The basics: accepted formats and weights
First of all, a few technical rules to be scrupulously respected:
- Accepted formats: PDF, JPEG, JPG, PNG.
- File size:
- For a proof of identity : between 32 KB and about 7 MB.
- For The other documents (Kbis, status, ...): between 1 KB and about 7 MB.
- Number of files: up to 5 files maximum per document, but in practice 1 to 3 files are sufficient (for example front and back of an identity card, or a document and its translation).
The language of your documents
Documents will be accepted if written in one of these languages: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese or Dutch.
If your document is in another language, a sworn translation (signed by an officially authorized translator) is mandatory. Except for proof of identity, which does not need translation. In this case, send the original document and its translation together.
The identity document
What to do:
- Use a document accepted in your country (identity card, passport, residence permit or driver's license as appropriate).
- For a passport : a single photo showing the two open pages, in a single file.
- For a identity card, residence permit or permit : two separate files, one for the front, one for the back.
- Take a color photo with your phone or camera, never a flatbed scanner or photocopy.
- Verify that the document is valid, up to date, and that its holder is over 18 years of age.
- Make sure that the information matches exactly the information on your Sora account (name, surname).
Mistakes that systematically cause a document to be refused:
- The edges of the card or document are not fully visible.
- The optical reading area (MRZ), a data or the photo are hidden.
- An object covers part of the document.
- A reflection or flash makes the document illegible.
- The photo is out of focus.
- The document is in black and white.
- The front and back are combined in one file instead of two.
- Two different documents are sent at the same time (in the same file or not).
A good idea: place your document on a flat, contrasting and well-lit surface, without a direct flash, and take the photo straight so that nothing is cut off.
Other documents (Kbis, statutes,...)
For all documents other than proof of identity, the rules are a bit different but just as simple to respect. The document should be:
- Compliant to what is accepted for the country in which your business is registered.
- Coherent with the information declared for the company, its legal representative and, where applicable, its beneficial owners.
- Complete and unmodified : no hidden, hidden, retouched, or altered passage in any way.
- Officially translated if the original language is not accepted by Mangopay.
The summary before sending
Before clicking on “send” in your Sora space, check that:
- the file is in PDF, JPEG, JPG, or PNG;
- it respects the minimum and maximum size;
- it is clear, in color, and nothing is cut or hidden;
- the document is still valid (not expired);
- the information corresponds well to that in your profile.
Following these few rules means saving yourself going back and forth and unlocking the receipt of your funds in record time.
